Castle Park Elementary School was built in 2000. Since that time the grounds have lost trees and shrubs due to poor soil conditions and currently there is a significant lack of shade in the front and back fields. Inspired largely by a group of teachers at the school, a concept plan was created in 2012 for a natural outdoor play area; however, due to unforeseen circumstances the project had to be put on hold. The time is right to revisit this project and moving forward it will be known as the Castle Park Learning Garden. There will be lots of opportunities in the coming year to get involved in this project so stay tuned for more information. |
